Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer
Remote

Our client, one of Northern New England's leading tech businesses, is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to help build and scale their multi-cloud AI/ML infrastructure and platform. This role focuses on designing and implementing cloud-native AI/ML framework for a fast-growing commerce technology company.

Essential Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize a scalable AI/ML infrastructure that supports both GenAI and traditional AI/ML applications.
• Contribute to the end-to-end AI/ML model lifecycle—development, deployment, monitoring, and refresh.
• Help architect and implement an AI Orchestration framework and Vector database integrated with the Data Lakehouse.
• Partner with senior engineers, security teams, and product teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performing AI/ML solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies and services to enhance the AI/ML platform.
• Work closely with SRE and security teams to meet security, performance, and compliance standards.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other engineers in the AI/ML and Data Engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in ML engineering, software design, and large-scale AI/ML deployment.
• Strong programming skills in Java and Python (or willingness to learn).
• Expertise in distributed computing frameworks like Ray and Spark.
• Experience with supervised and unsupervised ML techniques and Retrieval Augmented Generation applications.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD automation.
• Cloud expertise in AWS and/or Azure, with knowledge of tools like S3, EMR, Kubernetes, Lambda.
• Familiarity with SageMaker and experience in AI security best practices is a plus.
• Strong understanding of big data platforms and AI/ML infrastructure.
• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience in payment technology and financial services.
• Track record of mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
