Direct Support Professional
A sign-on incentive of up to $1000!
$500 after 90 days of employment, and an additional $500 at one year.
The starting base wage is $17-$19/hr.
Location: Portland and surrounding areas
Hours: Hours available Monday-Friday 9:30 am-2:00pm. This will include work in the Portland Adult Services community support day program and may consist of afternoon BHP shifts if you are seeking Full-time employment. Full-time employment is NOT available if you choose to work only in the day program, and 40 hours per week cannot be guaranteed. Residential or overnight hours are not available.

Affinity's BHPs and DSPs provide in-home and community support to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs and BHPs work one-on-one and in a group setting with an individual(s) on challenging behaviors, social skills, personal care, daily living skills, and community integration. Affinity provides employment in a day program or home/community based setting. We do not have residential programs or provide overnight support.

Job Requirements:
- Good driving record and reliable transportation with valid inspection/registration.
- Vehicle insurance liability requirements of $100,000/$300,000.
- Ability to complete BHP training within one year from the date of hire and DSP training within six months of hire.
- Positive attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to complete online documentation using several computer applications and systems. This will require the use of a smartphone and GPS enabling.
- Organized.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements:
- Over age 18 with a High School Diploma or GED.
- Preference is given to those applicants with BHP or DSP certification or experience working with children.
