Position Title: English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Instructor
Department: Adult Education
Reports to: Director of Adult Education
Summary: To provide ESOL instruction to adult students of South Portland Adult Education on a temporary, as needed, basis to maximize the positive impact for students, South Portland Adult Education, and the community. Applications welcome on a rolling basis to fill specific teaching needs throughout the year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide ESOL/English language instruction to adults
Plan and execute lessons plans
Track student attendance
Attend teacher meetings
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Current State of Maine Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) or be willing to acquire CHRC
Experience teaching ESOL. Experience working with adults is preferred.
Rate:
$30/hr.
Hours: SPAE offers English classes during the morning, day, and evening at various locations. Please indicate general availability (morning/day/evening). Classes typically run four hours/week plus prep time.
