Custodian (Evening)

Evening Custodian – Mary Snow School

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or its equivalant
2. Basic building maintenance including plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, ground maintenance and painting
3. Work effectively and harmoniously with other staff and students
4. Physical ability to lift independently heavy objects weighing up to 70 pounds. Able to climb to the height of any Bangor School building
5. Ability to handle hazardous materials in a safe manner
6. Such Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable

Preferred:

1. Experience as a school custodian, or the equivalent in custodial service in other institutions and firms is desirable

Physical Qualifications:

1. Visual acuity to include color, depth perception & field of vision with/without correction
2. Sufficient auditory function to hear phones, pager, instrument and/or system alarms
3. Ability to communicate verbally with others - including phone equipment
4. Manual dexterity in the operation of a computer
5. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
6. Ability to complete repetitive motions - including bending, stooping, reaching, and walking
7. Moderate lifting - up to 50 pounds occasionally, with regular lifting of 10-20 pounds
