Description: The Scarborough School District is seeking a Multilingual Learner (MLL) & Academic Coordinator to join the district in a half-time capacity. Under the direction of the Addult Ed Director, this position supports the adminstration, coordination and development of adult education programs, with a primary focus on MLL and academic programming.

Responsibilities include coordinating admissions intakes, registration, advising, testing, and new student orientation. The Coordinator will also research, compile, and analyze data and prepare data-driven reports. Instruction of English Language Acquisition classes is an essential component of this role. In addition, this position works closely with adult volunteers supporting the MLL program.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to adult learners and brings enthusiasm for education and lifelong learning.

Key Responsiblities & Skills:

  • Manage adult education programs, including experience working with adult learners
  • Support and engage diverse populations in an inclusive learning environment
  • Utilize Google Drive and student data systems effectively
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain flexibility to support class schedules, including evening hours as needed
  • Apply current research and instructional best practices to program development
  • Use data to inform instruction and guide program improvements
  • Coordinate curriculum that engages instructors, staff, and community partners
  • Oversee and support volunteer programs
  • Develop, update, and manage curriculum aligned with student needs and funding requirements
  • Oversee student intake, registration, assessment, and data collection for state reporting
  • Assist with recruiting and training instructors and volunteers
  • Advise students on educational and workforce development opportunities
  • Schedule classes, support program marketing, and build community partnerships
