JOB GOAL/PRIMARY PURPOSE: To enable children with disabilities to access their education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Essential Performance Responsibilities
  • Develop tools and work with staff to collect progress-monitoring data on behavioral goals.
  • Conducts functional behavioral assessments associated with IEPs and writes reports summarizing results.
  • Assist in the development of positive behavior support plans utilizing evidence-based interventions. Additionally, train other staff to write comprehensive behavior support plans.
  • Supervision of Behavioral Health Professionals in conjunction with Section 28 program requirements and documentation protocols.
  • Assess a student’s instructional needs and develop appropriate programming.
  • Co-teach/model social skills and executive functioning instruction.
  • Train staff on positive behavior support plans and instructional programs and monitor fidelity.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of student data and make programming adjustments as needed for the special education population.
  • Consult with both regular education, special education an speciality services in the development of guidelines around management of student behavior.
  • Attends IEP meetings as needed for students with special needs.
  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and providing student information to prospective colleges and employers, as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
  • Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
  • Selects and requisitions appropriate books, aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Masters Degree in relevant area (education, behavior analysis, psychology, speech and language)
  • National certification (BACB).
  • State of Maine Licensure.
  • Hold a valid State of Maine Criminal History Records Check Approval.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with administration and supervision of Section 28 services.
