We are currently seeking a Limited Part-Time Registered EEG Technician to join our Respiratory Care/Sleep Lab Team!
As an EEG technician, you will be running electroencephalogram (EEG) tests. This will require you to monitor and study the electrical activity of the brain and nervous system. Knowledge of currently accepted standards of practice when performing electro-neurodiagnostic testing in mandatory. This testing can be done on both inpatients and outpatients. Positive interpersonal skills with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, and other medical staff are required.
Your duties and responsibilities are:
Prior to EEG testing, technicians are required to review patients past medical history, explain the procedure to them, and answer any questions.
Positive interpersonal skills with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, and other medical staff are required.
Prepare patients for the EEG examination
Understand and operate EEG machine during test to ensure patient safety at all times.
Process data and results
Communicate with neurologist that will be interpreting study
Clean and maintain machine between tests.
Physical Requirements for this position are:
May require minimal lifting and moving equipment for inpatient studies.
Pushing/Pulling - Pushing/Pulling 50-75 pounds is required to move EEG machine for inpatient testing.
Full manual dexterity of both upper extremities is required.
Lifting - Regular lifting of medical supplies, charts, patient supplies. Must request assistance when lifting, ambulating or repositioning patients for EEG testing.
