The Charge RN will be responsible for the overall Nursing and Skilled Care unit operations which include planning, coordinating, assessing, implementing and evaluating the care given to all residents of these assigned units.
It is the responsibility of this position to ensure that staff provide the necessary care and services to attain and maintain the highest practical physical, psychological, social, and spiritual wellbeing of the residents in accordance with their Comprehensive Assessments and individualized Care Plans, and stay in compliance with the current standards of the State and Federal regulations.
Experience:
The person considered for this role must possess:
- A Nursing Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university.
- A current, valid license to practice as an RN in the State of Maine
- Have a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience In an acute hospital setting or prior experience working In a Nursing Home. Supervisory experience would be a plus.
- Have the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory abilities and the willingness to work as a team with professional and non-professional personnel.
- Possess the ability to be well organized, plan, develop, delegate Implement, interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures that are necessary to provide quality care.
- Must have patience, be tactful, have a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and want to lead peers by example.
- Have the ability to deal with more difficult situations, residents and family members (complaints/grievances)
