Responsibilities:
Are you interested in helping companies understand their risks and controls? How about a role with an equal mix number crunching and direct client contact? We are seeking an Asset Liability Management (ALM) Consultant to join our team! The ideal candidate will understand ALM principles, liquidity risk management, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Our consultants work closely with our clients to go beyond checklists and routine to bring perspective and add value to the client’s operations. The work is both challenging and rewarding, providing you with an opportunity to make an immediate impact within business consulting.
More specifically, this role would generally include the following experiences:
- Assist with conducting comprehensive ALM and liquidity risk validations and internal audits for banks and credit unions.
- Identify areas of concern, formulate recommendations for improvement, and effectively share this information with others (both verbally and written).
- Interview and collaborate with personnel at all levels within the client organization.
- Evaluate whether controls are designed appropriately and operate effectively. Assist clients in regulatory compliance related to ALM and liquidity risk management.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver timely work product.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in ALM and liquidity risk management.
- Analyze large data sets and complex financial information.
- Contribute to an internal team culture where we “work hard/play hard” and “teamwork makes the dream work”.
Experienced hires would contribute as noted above, plus:
- Managing client engagements, to include planning, scheduling, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
- Work on internal projects, propose time saving measures and contribute to team goals.
- Answer questions from less experienced team members.
- Provide proactive assistance and consultative advice to clients.
- Complete initial reviews of testing documentation prepared by consultants.
Participate in other team initiatives, including industry events, business development training, process improvement projects, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance. Preferred 2 years experience in ALM and liquidity risk management, preferably within the banking or credit union sector.
- Familiarity with internal controls, accounting, finance and/or banking preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling, including Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication skills with both technical and business partners as well as executive management.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high volume, high paced dynamic environment.
- Travel to clients and for occasional team meetings - 10-20%.

Wipfli supports equal pay for equal work and values each candidate’s unique experiences and skill sets. The estimated pay range for this position is: $60,000 to $99,000. Compensation within the range is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, individuals' skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, business needs and applicable employment laws.
Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
