As a supportive counselor, the BHP provides intensive supervision and direction to emotionally and behaviorally challenged children, adolescents and young adults in a compassionate and respectful manner. This position requires an unwavering commitment to safety and the ability to continuously assess and manage ongoing developments and concerns of client care. The BHP is responsible to implement individualized treatment and milieu programming, in the context of trusting and supportive relationships with clients.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, Associate's Degree (60 credits), Bachelor's Degree (90+ credits).
Some experience with acute emotionally challenged clients preferred.
If working in ASD program, experience serving ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorders) population is preferred.
Job Duties:
Safety: Ensure a safe and secure environment. Act immediately to remove all dangers or threats to the welfare of our clients.
Administrative Supervision: Complete 1000 of mentored work under the supervision of a Treatment Team Supervisor or designee.
Supervision: Know the whereabouts of all clients in your care; ensure performance of daily self-care tasks and assist clients as needed. Provide minor first aid treatment as necessary.
Communication: Clear and effective use of both written and verbal forms of communication.
Adherence: Understands and abides by the Absenteeism Policy.
Completion: Of all of the above requirements and competencies listed below no later than 6 months post-hire for all associates.
