Job Description
JOB GOAL: To assist the Student Services Director and Assistant Superintendent in the provision of appropriate educational programming and services for Pre-K and Kindergarten students
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide leadership and consultation to both regular and special education teachers in RSU 14 schools and local community partners with regard to the most appropriate research-based instructional strategies and programs to meet the needs of diverse learners.
2. Oversee IEP development by assisting special education staff in establishing data collection systems and making instructional decisions based on that data.
3. Plan, coordinate, and provide Pre-K and Kindergarten professional development experiences that will result in improved measurable student outcomes.
4. Establish and maintain appropriate programs and supports at the building level and with community partners.
5. Serve as a liaison between community partners and RSU 14 through direct consultation and site visits to ensure Chapter 124 compliance.
6. Serve as a liaison between Child Development Services (CDS) and RSU 14 for students attending Pre-K and Kindergarten and prepare for the FAPE transition.
7. Coordinate and oversee the Pre-K and Kindergarten screening annual process and communicate with families, school administration, and Central Office staff accordingly.
8. Assist Pre-K programs as needed in terms of curriculum implementation, classroom management, and Chapter 124 compliance.
9. Coordinate and oversee the Pre-K Lottery Selection process and maintain communication with building administration, Central Office staff, and families as needed.
10. Oversee the RtI and special education referral process and conduct evaluations as needed for Pre-K students.
11. Update Memorandum of Understandings with local Pre-K partners and CDS annually in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent.
12. Oversee Pre-K curriculum materials and instructional supplies; process purchase orders in compliance with district protocols; maintain existing inventory.
13. Carry out all other duties as assigned by the Student Services Director and/or the Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
