Job Summary
- Assists Store Manager day to day operations of Goodwill Retail store with gross sales of $1,000,000 to $1,999,999
- Assumes full responsibility for all store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
Communication:
- Receives donations, provides donation receipts and assists donors to ensure a positive donor experience
- Maintains positive relationships between departments through concise and consistent communication
Knowledge:
- Interviews/hires new store personnel; trains store personnel in store policies, job duties, and Agency policies and procedures
- Maintains store premises to ensure adequate security and compliance with safety and environmental codes and ordinances as well as with the Agency’s health and safety standards
- Performs operational duties as needed (register, donation area, production, merchandising, customer service)
Administration:
- Analyzes store merchandising needs; ensures adequate levels of inventory in order to meet projected sales and budget goals through achievement of production goals
- Maintains store records including all cash, sales and deposit reports, expense reports, payroll sheets and other records required by the Agency or by applicable law
- Closes registers and cashes out; totals and summarizes funds received, endorses checks, and prepares bank deposit slip; deposits funds at a bank
Supervision:
- Assists Store Manager with all general store operations
- Supervises/coordinates activities of store personnel; assigns duties and schedules break periods, work hours, and vacations
- Ensures that store opening/closing procedures are followed; secures all store premises.
- Participates in performance management, including disciplinary actions, staff assignments, and writing year end review.
Requirements:
- Criminal Background Check that meets the agency standards
- A minimum of Two (2) years previous retail experience.
- A minimum of One (1) year of supervisory experience, preferably in a retail setting.
- The ability to: sit, stand, bend, reach, and lift
- Ability to push/pull up to fifty (50) pounds
