The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $122,699 to $153,374

Job Summary

The position leads the AVANGRID Networks Investment Planning Team in planning and controlling the capital investments for the Networks businesses in Maine. This includes the planning processes that create, manage, prioritize, and report on the plan for time periods as needed by the organization. Additional responsibilities include ensuring proper financial project approvals are in place, consistency in capital spending to regulatory requirements and corporate goals, and measure and explain variances to plan. This role is instrumental in motivating and fostering team involvement and development to allow for continuous learning and process improvement in a changing business environment.

Major Roles & Responsibilities

  • Leads capital investment planning for the AVANGRID Networks companies located in Maine including forecast development, actual variance analysis, metrics, goal measurement, and reporting to management.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to lead discussion with regulators.
  • Creates and supports regulatory reporting and inquiries on AVANGRID Networks capital investments. This includes but is not limited to periodic variance analysis, annual plan reporting, and management audit and rate case proceedings.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of performance to annual plans and approved rate plans.
  • Identify key drivers for variance to plan, and effectively communicate to senior leadership to support decision making.
  • Be a Business partner and collaborate, negotiate with VPs and Directors to design 10-year long term plan for AVANGRID Networks companies in Maine.
  • Develop and maintain effective lines of communication with AVANGRID Networks business area leaders, directors, and managers to ensure accurate project forecasts and reporting to support achievement of strategic and operational goals.
  • Oversees the control aspects of AVANGRID Networks capital investments in the ME companies including proper and timely project approvals are in place, management of portfolio targets, and tracking results.
  • Coordinate the development of testimony and supporting documentation, schedules and exhibits for rate case testimony in collaboration with senior leadership team.
  • Manage the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment and timely feedback, and coaching.
  • Foster an environment where employees can develop their capabilities and have the tools required to be successful.

Job Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of Finance or Business Management experience required.
  • Five years of supervisory or project management experience required.
  • Utility industry experience preferred.
  • Experience creating, managing, and prioritizing capital budgets, portfolios and investments plans.
  • Experience in effectively communicating complex information in simple terms to multiple levels of the organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of CapEx and Plant Addition forecasting, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including PowerPoint presentations
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, including use of databases and Power BI preferred
  • Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to lead without direct authority.
  • Strong fact-based decision-making skills and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, consensus-building, and conflict resolution skills.
