MaineGeneral is offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for Respiratory Therapist hires who accept a 30+ hour position on night shift.

To be eligible for the bonus, applicants must have previous Respiratory Therapist work experience. Rehires within 1 year are not eligible.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides a full range of cardiopulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services to patients of all age groups. The person in this position has primary responsibility for patient care including: examination, evaluation, treatment planning, and administration of Respiratory Care procedures in response to a physician's order. This position also provides coverage to an active Emergency Department. Our Respiratory Care team works collaboratively throughout the organization with all disciplines. We are a teaching facility that precepts college students from respiratory care, EMT, and Nursing process.

Responsibilities:

•Assess, plan, organize and administer Respiratory Care procedures in accordance with physician's treatment plan including mechanical ventilation and airway care
•Provides care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
•Delivers and assesses patients response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
•Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
•Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
•Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
•Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment based on organization protocols.
•Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
•Transport and maintenance of critically ill patients for special tests and procedures.
•Attends high-risk deliveries to assist physicians with intubation/NRP, surfactant administration, and transport of intubated patients.
•Responds to pediatric/neonatal emergencies (including CPR/NRP); assist in patient intubation, providing appropriate oxygen therapy.

The ideal candidate will have:

•New RRT grads welcome to apply!
•Current License as Respiratory Therapist by the Maine Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners or ability to obtain at hire is required
•Current RRT cert through NBRC is required
