POSITION SUMMARY:

The Massage Therapist will provide treatment to KVHC’s patients to relieve pain, help health injuries, improve circulation, increase relaxation and aid in general wellness.  The Message Therapist will work with the Physical Therapist and Chiropractor to aid in care as needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain client schedule.
  2. Maintain patient confidence. Caring professionalism and respect to maintain and nurture patient confidence.
  3. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  4. Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  5. Work with Purchasing Manager to order supplies necessary to provide services; including but not limited to linens and creams.
  6. Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
  7. Remain current on massage techniques.
  8. Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
  9. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  10. Maintains accurate and complete patient health records to assure confidentiality and compliance with health care regulations.
  11. Abides by the organizations compliance and risk programs.
  12. Complies with all safety rules and protocols. Reports all incidents, regardless of severity immediately to supervisor and completes an incident reports and investigation form, which will be forwarded to Human Resources within 24 hours of the incident.
  13. Complies with all policies and protocols.
  14. Performs additional duties or projects as assigned by supervisor.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School diploma or GED certificate. Or a combination of education and experience.
  2. A minimum 500 hours of massage training from an accredited school.
  3. Licensed in good standing as a Massage Therapist with the State of Maine.
  4. Board Certified.
  5. Current BLS.
  6. Possess strong communication, analytical, and observation skills.
  7. Demonstrate attention to detail and timeliness with documentation.
  8. Maintains all current credentialing requirements.  
  9. Ability to travel to all KVHC Sites as needed.
  10. Valid State of Maine Driver’s license and ability to be insured by KVHC’s vehicle insurance carrier.
