The role: Do you want to make a difference in people's lives? As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Ventures Community Support Services Program, you will be responsible for actively engaging with and supporting adults with intellectual disabilities as they connect with their community and engage in educational, recreational, artistic, and social events and activities. The position requires a high level of energy and enthusiasm, combined with creativity, compassion, and professionalism.

Our program features three focus areas - farm-to-table, community connections, and art connections. Each focus area provides participants with engaging opportunities to develop relationships and skills that support health and well-being. Join our program as a DSP and spend the day supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities in a variety of fun and engaging community activities!

The schedule: Part-time day position with guaranteed 16.5 hours/week working Tuesday 8am-12pm, Wed 8am-4:30pm, Fri 8am-12pm

Requirements

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Requirements:

  • A high school diploma/GED
  • 18 years of age or over
  • Active driver's license
  • Experience in direct care, preferred, but not required. Willing to train
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English
