POSITION OVERVIEW: Speech-Language Pathologist (Full Time) - Multiple Openings, 25-26 SY
Portland Public Schools is seeking an innovative ASHA-Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services for students at schools within the Portland Public School District. The SLP will join a passionate, multidisciplinary team of teachers, ed-techs, social workers, occupational therapists and physical therapists.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess all areas of speech and language development, provide direct instruction to students, and consult to team members in a collaborative manner
- Develop goals & Individualized Education Plans consistent with state/federal laws and regulations, provide case management for students with speech/language disabilities, and implement programs in the least restrictive environment appropriate for the student
- Implement programs in the least restrictive environment appropriate for the student
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working within the public school environment
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university
CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization (more info).
- Either or both of the following:
- Maine State Certification 293 (Speech and Hearing Clinician, K-12) (more info)
- Maine State Speech Pathologist License (more info)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
