Full job description

New Communities is seeking a talented mental health technician professional to serve as a Team Leader/Supervisor for our mental health adult PNMI program supporting aging adults with mental health challenges. This full-time leadership position has limited supervisory responsibilities for 8 residents and general oversight of direct care Mental Health Rehabilitation Technicians (MHRT-I) providing personal and medical assistance to residents. The Team Leader position is located at our Hampden Meadows location in Hampden, Maine and is regularly scheduled Monday - Friday 7:00a-3:00p but at times, program needs would require flexibility.


Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising the mental health technician direct care team and managing employee performance issues with support from the Regional Program Manager.
  • Coordinating safe-staffing schedules of mental health technicians for adequate facility coverage.
  • Assisting residents with their individual service plan goals/objectives, medical and personal care, and other assigned needs to improve resident quality of life.
  • Providing assistance and support to clients and staff in the event of a crisis situation.
  • Providing oversight of all medication administration practices and procedures for resident medical needs.
  • Facilitating intake and discharge of residents and maintaining resident clinical records.
  • Working closely with legal guardians and approved outside agencies to ensure the provision of quality services.

The Team Leader/Supervisor position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks with varying deadlines. Strong organizational, written and interpersonal communication as well as basic supervisory skills are essential. Providing after hours on-call supervision to Mental Health Rehabilitation Technicians (MHRT I) on a regular rotation is required.

Requirements

MHRT Team Leader Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, and associate degree or bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Current Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) certificate with 3-5 years’ experience and a Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician (MHRT I) certification is required
  • Valid Maine driver’s license is required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
