Full job description Biddeford Center of Technology is seeking:
Emergency Medical Services Lecturer/Lab Assistant
5-10 hours per week until mid-June
This is a hourly paid contracted position without paid benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

EMS Lecturers/Lab Assistants assist the Lead Instructor with lectures or the teaching and the refinement of laboratory skills and scenarios. EMS Lecturers/Lab Assistants will be able to:
  • Maintain collateral communications among Program Director(s), Medical Director(s), department chair(s), Clinical Coordinator, faculty, and students
  • Instruct students from lesson plans and instructional guides designed and approved by the Program Director/Lead Instructor
  • Supervise peer-review sessions
  • Track skills progression with learning management systems
  • Evaluate student competency utilizing program guidelines
  • Recommend changes to program guides and curriculum
  • Maintain licenses, certifications, and/or current clinical practice knowledge base through life-long learning and continuing education
  • Attend training, meetings and committees as available

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • State of Maine licensure (or previously licensed) as a Paramedic, Nurse (RN), Respiratory Therapist (RT), and/or Physician Assistant (PA-C), Nurse Practitioner (NP), and/or Physician (MD/DO) with a minimum of one (1) years continuous clinical experience in Emergency Medical Services, Urgent Care, Emergency Department, and/or Intensive Care
  • EMR and EMT lecturers and lab assistants may be licensed (or previously licensed) as an EMT
  • AEMT lecturers and lab assistants may be licensed (or previously licensed) as an AEMT
  • Maine Class C driver’s license or equivalent
  • Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education ( obtain within 4 weeks)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s Degree or higher
  • Maine EMS Instructor Coordinator
  • At least one (1) year active instructional experience
  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS Provider and/or Instructor
  • National Registry of EMTs certification
  • National Association of EMS Educators Instructor I course
  • National Associations of EMTs Provider and/or Instructor
