The Direct Support Professional (DSP) Float role: as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Float you will provide direct care support to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Support consists of acting as a role model, administering medication, assistance with personal care, and inspiring clients to be as independent as possible, both at home and in the community. This opportunity includes attending and actively promoting recreational, social outings, and activities for our clients with New Communities company vehicles for client transportation.

40 guaranteed hours weekly, with a varying full-time schedule working 7a-3p and 3p-11p shifts. The DSP Float position requires flexibility as the purpose of the position is to fill shifts based on the needs of the program. You will be scheduled in advance for day and evening shifts working in various group homes located in Skowhegan, Madison and Solon.

Pay ranges from $16.25-$17.00/hour based on certifications.

Requirements

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Float Requirements:

  • A high school diploma/GED
  • 18 years of age or over
  • Active driver's license
  • DSP certification and 40-hour CRMA certification required
  • Additional certifications of Safety Care, CPR/First Aid preferred, but willing to train
  • At least 2 years of experience working in the IDD Field.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English
