Kennebec Behavioral Health, established in 1960 to provide comprehensive behavioral health services and named one of the Best Places to Work in Maine for the last four (4) consecutive years, is seeking a full-time Medication Clinic Assistant to help our current MA’s for our Augusta/ Winthrop clinics. The Medication Clinic Assistant will function as part of an interdisciplinary team, working to promote the best possible client outcomes.
The Medication Clinic Assistant will work collaboratively with our nursing staff and providers who serve clients in five of our clinic locations (Augusta, Winthrop, Waterville, Farmington and Skowhegan). Clients served include children, adolescents and adults and service to clients often also involves collaboration with parents/guardians and/or support persons.
Duties of this position include but are not limited to: obtaining a snapshot of current health status (including vital signs), updating medication lists, reviewing current symptoms and any changes since last seen, relaying information to providers in a timely fashion, assisting providers with prior authorizations and various other administrative paperwork, completing treatment plans and annual assessments that need to be done by chart review, obtaining urine drug screens.
Experience within the mental health system to include basic knowledge of diagnosis, medications, treatment options and reimbursement is required.
Requirements: Certified Medical Assistant degree preferred. Associates degree or higher; or Licensed Social Worker (LSW); or MHRT Required.
