PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Reports To: CEO
Supervises: N/A
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
WE ARE SEEKING a Program Director to source and manage speakers & program content for the events we curate. The Program Director reports directly to the CEO.
ABOUT US: Nimble Group is a Portland-based conference-planning organization that produces two HR-oriented events annually. Our mission is to curate unique conference experiences that cultivate progressive practices in the Human Resources and Employer community.
Responsibilities Include
- Initiate and set goals for conference educational programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization.
- Source keynote speakers, workshop facilitators, and subject matter experts to deliver program content based on each conference’s unique objectives.
- Create program write-ups and objectives for each conference session.
- Complete, submit, and manage all continuing education applications.
- Work with speakers to plan conference programs from start to finish adhering to deadlines, milestones, and processes.
- Coordinate with the Marketing & Communications Team to create content related to programs and speakers for promotional purposes.
- Manage speaker logistics including communications, budget, travel, AV needs, and on-site operations.
- Devise and implement evaluation strategies to assess program performance and determine areas for improvement.
- Discover ways to enhance the efficiency and productivity of speaker management procedures.
- Keep senior management informed of program status with detailed and accurate reports or presentations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in program development, speaker management, or both.
- Ability to travel for annual conferences, site visits, and client meetings as needed. (Travel <15%)
- Strong relationship-building skills and a creative approach to programming.
- Ability to write clear and succinct messaging to convey information effectively.
- Tech-savvy, willingness to learn new skills and programs.
- Knowledge of, or strong interest in Humans Resources is strongly preferred.
- Proactive, organized, reflective, and not afraid to ask questions.
- Experience with CRM systems, social media platforms, and WordPress preferred.
Salary & Benefits
- Base Compensation: $24-27/hr, 40 hours guaranteed weekly.

- We prefer candidates who work remotely within northern New England. However, for exceptional candidates willing to travel, a remote work environment within the United States is possible.
- Encouraged 4-Day Work Week
- As an event company, there will always be some peak periods, which is why we encourage a four-day schedule whenever possible. We don’t schedule any internal meetings (and do our best to avoid scheduling external ones) on Fridays, and encourage you to use that day however you like.
