Position Summary
We are seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Math who has experience teaching and knowledge of the content. Ideally, candidates are comfortable with technology, committed to collaboration, and eager to join a community always looking to improve instructional practices. If you are someone who thrives in an environment with high standards and who can contribute to the strength of our school and community, please consider joining us for these 4 - 5 months! An ideal candidate works well collaboratively and has a history of providing engaging, hands-on, student-centered instruction based on a curriculum that is aligned with Common Core State Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver daily lesson plans forAlgebra 1 and 2 courses.
- Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
- Evaluate student progress and adapt instruction to meet student needs.
- Effectively communicate with students, peers, parents, and administrators.
Qualifications/Skills
- Knowledge of the diverse ways in which students learn and develop.
- Ability to adapt lesson plans based on student needs within different learning groups.
- Ability to engage with students, home, school, colleagues, and the community to support student learning and wellbeing.
- Background check, including fingerprinting.
- Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval.
- Maine Teaching Certification with Math endorsement (300 Mathematics 7-12) preferred.
Pay and Benefits
- Pay dependent on certification and experience
- 1 Paid Sick Day per Month
- Maine PERS Eligible
