Job Description:
The Field Services Representative 1 provides excellent service to our customers, shareholders and employees by successfully performing all functions necessary to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the public water system. Duties include the installation, maintenance, repair, relocation, retirement, testing and operations of the water distribution system and related structures. They will also be responsible for and grounds operation, meter reading and customer service work, as well as maintenance of production and treatment facilities. A Field Services Representative works with and/or under the supervision of the Foreman or the Superintendent and must be capable of assuming responsibility to complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively and must be able to work independently.
- The Field Service Representative will perform a wide variety of duties and tasks related to operating and maintaining a public water distribution system, including: Operation and routine maintenance of equipment and vehicles; i.e., trucks, digging and trenching equipment, pavement and rock breakers, tampers, pumps, compressors, and such other equipment as the Company may have or acquire for the purpose of water system construction or maintenance.
- Installation, maintenance, and repair of water mains, hydrants, service lines and related valves, fittings and appurtenances
- Installation of water meters; meter reading, and the transfer of meter reads to the office.
- Grounds keeping at company facilities and over mains, services and other areas.
- Record the location of underground facilities, making measurements and surveys as required. Perform and record inspections and tests of piping systems.
- Load and unload various equipment, materials and supplies at work sites and store areas.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- A valid driver’s license is required. CDL preferred.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written form, and have legible handwriting.
- Must demonstrate the proper regard for the use of time and equipment, and an awareness of the responsibility to safeguard the water supply and prevent pollution of area surface water.
- Have the ability to successfully work as part of a team and communicate effectively with the public.
- Be able to follow written and verbal instructions and regulations.
- Must have demonstrated computer skills.
- Must be available for reasonable overtime work and be available for emergency on call duty when necessary to provide service to the public.

Job Description:
The Construction Leader is responsible for providing excellent customer service by successfully scheduling and leading the activities of the Field Service Team in our smaller systems. Responsibilities vary by system, but may include overseeing or directly performing operation and maintenance functions on the Company’s distribution assets including, but not limited to, water mains, services, hydrants and water meters. In addition, they will be responsible for either overseeing, or performing emergency repair work, responding to water quality complaints or other customer service functions and assisting with community and contractual relationships.
- Leads activities of assigned Field Service Representatives including, scheduling, coordinating resources, and monitoring performance to establish and meet Company and Region Field Service initiatives and goals. Partners with the Superintendent, Chief Plant Operator and Lead Field Service, Construction to effectively manage the team.
- Effectively communicates with the team and leadership to ensure team members are demonstrating Company values and their work is contributing to Company goals. The Lead will also be responsible for training and development of team members to ensure the team has the skills required to perform the work.
- Performs all administrative functions required to successfully perform the role, including but not limited to work order creation and closure, keeping operations and maintenance records current in the system, generating monthly production reports, approving invoices and purchasing orders, and other computer based tasks.
- Either directly or by leading the work of others, repairs below ground assets, including mains, services, and other assets.
- Either directly, or by directing the work of others, maintains the distribution system assets, including flushing mains, hydrant maintenance, service box repairs, meter service and other system upkeep as needed or required.
- Either directly or through coordinating the work of others, installs assets, including mains, hydrants, services, and meters.
- Works directly with customers, as well as state and local town officials, as needed, to proactively coordinate all construction and maintenance related activities to establish a positive rapport with local communities.
- Works directly with contractors to coordinate activities while ensuring compliance to the Company standards. This includes ensuring safety, water quality and customer satisfaction requirements are met. Oversee linebacker work within the region.
- Leads or directly maintains Company facilities, including snow plowing, tree work, road repair, and dam maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Commercial Driver’s License, CDL A required
- Ability to obtain the following licenses in a reasonable timeframe: Water Distribution II & Water Treatment II certifications
- Proficiency in water quality preferred
- Proficiency in Respirator use preferred
- Must have proficiency in computer skills
- Must have great communication skills
- Must have high proficiency in problem solving
