Biddeford and Dayton Schools are seeking:
Substitute Teachers
Long-term and per diem (by the day) assignments available
Flexible days
6-7 hours per day
Select the school grade or subject you prefer
Request a tour of a school today
$125 per day non-certified
$140 per day for retired teachers and currently certified teachers
$140 Long-term subs for a teacher, in one assignment for days 31- 90, (over 90 days is at the entry-level teacher per diem rate)

Guaranteed Substitute program
- you set the day of the week and we gaurantee work on that weekday at a specific school during the school year. Limited to 3 days a week or less.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructs students and facilitates their learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students.
Remains at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principal.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
Communicates effectively with parents when needed.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma- May serve 10 days in any one teaching assignment, up to 60 days per school year.
Two or more years of college- May serve as a substitute for up to 60 days per school year.
Certified teacher- May serve as substitute with no time limit in certification area/grade level only.
Certified teacher- May serve as a substitute for up to 90 days per school year in certification areas outside of area of specialty.

notification of substitute opportunities. Consider downloading the Frontline phone
app.
5. Schedule a tour and meet a school principal/office staff. Ask to shadow a
guaranteed sub for a day.
6. Accept your first substitute assignment using Frontline Education.
