The Event Manager (EM) will be a key member of the IOFM team. This person will lead and manage the planning and execution of all conference programming, all special events and all activations on the show floor. The EM will collaborate with the Event Director to develop strategies, initiatives, and programs to enhance the exhibitor and attendee experience, while collaborating with sales leadership on developing new revenue opportunities. The EM will also liaise with internal departments to manage sponsorship development and requirements

How you’ll make an impact:

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build a strategic production schedule for conference program & event development in collaboration with content, sales and marketing teams
  • Establish timelines for conference / event projects and systems to ensure deadlines are met
  • Builds content/data collection processes with Sr. Conference Coordinator
  • Works closely with Operations and Event Director on future venue contracts/locations
  • Creates and manages conference budget
  • Support conference programming through execution onsite – once contracts are agreed, Sr. Conference Coordinator and Event Manager ensure smooth follow up with all speakers in advance, and onsite.
    • All needs onsite are known in advance and work to deliver a seamless onsite experience for speakers, attendees and exhibitors
  • Works closely with the content, sales and marketing teams to generate ideas and insights
  • Works as a team player to develop and share key event program objectives and ensures a high level of accurate communication is shared to ensure accurate communication is aligned with marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Recommends innovative opportunities and efficiencies to expand the event offerings and grow revenue.
  • Lead and manage special events to enhance visitor and exhibitor experience.
  • Work with sales to build the floorplan for exhibit space as well as show management/activation areas.
  • Manage the fulfillment of onsite sponsorship programs, working closely with sales, operations, customer service and marketing.
  • Oversee KPI’s as they relate to event performance, working closely with sales and marketing to ensure they are achieved
  • Serve as liaison between marketing, operations, and sales ensuring expectations and experience are met for all customers
  • Collaborate with the Event Director in identifying new initiatives and opportunities and implementing special programs or projects as needed
  • Manage certain portions of the event budget
  • Collaborate with the Event Director on strategic direction and business plans for events
  • Help ensure all elements of the business align with strategy set by the Event Director
  • Leads decisions Collaborates on breakout/layout of session space at venue

Knowledge: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred, 5+ years of industry experience.

Skills: Strong communication skills – both internally and externally – a must. Also, excellent project management skills, collaboration and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, writing, presentation, leadership, networking and financial management skills. Experience in managing key business partnerships, developing and executing new product launches.

Have knowledge of and/or ability to work with CRM, floorplan management and budget forecasting software platforms.

Abilities: Self-starter, innovator, ability to identify opportunities and devise strategies to execute them. Managing growth and change, listening to, and understanding customer needs in the market. Adept at handling multiple priorities and providing direction and oversight to key functional reporting areas.

Multi-tasker, an eye for details, flexibility to meet changing needs as our product portfolio grows.

Other Qualifications: Must be a team player, enjoy working with people, have a positive attitude, enjoy collaborative work as well as independent projects and initiatives.

Work Environment: Diversified Communications offers the flexibility to work remotely and enjoy a hybrid schedule, working in the office 2 days per week at our Portland, Maine office.

Travel: Is required 2-3 times per year in this role.
