This position is part of a diverse team of utility experts tasked with creating and executing on a best-in-class asset planning strategy across AVANGRID. This role utilizes practical and analytic knowledge to perform needs and solution studies on assets at all voltage levels including the development of mitigating projects and programs.
Responsibilities
This role leads or supports all the project development responsibilities including the following:
- Execution of the AVANGRID Asset Management initiative in the electric networks organization.
- Point for decision making and navigation of projects through the Investment Planning process from inception through construction. This includes technical oversight of all projects, including legacy projects, through the various stages of design and construction.
- Research, development, continual refinement, and execution of an industry leading asset planning strategy.
- Ensuring that asset condition needs across AVANGRID are identified, prioritized, and addressed with appropriate mitigating solutions in a comprehensive manner.
- Centralized oversight, development, support, and coordination of the capital project portfolio ensuring they have been properly vetted and documented in support of prudent and defendable CAPEX investment decision making.
- Anticipation, preparation and initiation of strategy discussions and activities as required to meet regulator, customer and key stakeholder expectations in support of business growth objectives.
- Developing and building collaborative and constructive relationships with regulators and ISO’s by ensuring proposals are thoughtful, prudent, and well documented.
- Storm duty as required.

Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Civil, or Structural Engineering with 4-8 years of required experience
- Required experience may be in any combination of Transmission and Substation (T&S) planning, design, operations, asset management or maintenance. Demonstrated ability to provide significant value as a collaborating team member in the resolution of unique and complex problems having a broad impact on the Business.
