Description Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a MaineHealth member, has an exciting and interesting salaried position for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to work with the Southern Maine Health Care Women’s Clinic in Biddeford. This is a well-established position working alongside the medical providers, the LCSW, and other support staff in the Women’s Clinic. It is ideal for someone interested in providing highly valued psychiatry services within a medical team. You will be a member of the medical staff team, as well as the larger Behavioral Health Integration program where training, supervision and consultation are provided.
As one of the largest BHI programs in the nation, we have approximately 40 clinicians providing care at over 50 primary care locations and almost 10 specialty offices throughout Maine.

In this role, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide psychiatric evaluation, determine diagnoses and prescribe appropriate treatment as indicated for a variety of psychiatric conditions. As a member of the patient care team, the NP will establish therapeutic relationships in order to facilitate patient’s progress with treatment goals. To be effective, the NP will have the demonstrated ability to balance independent clinical decision making with appropriate consultation from providers. In addition, the NP integrates biopsychosocial information into single, shared medical record and obtains consultation from a collaborating physician when appropriate.

  • Successful completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Previous relevant RN experience or at least one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Epic EMR experience preferred.
