Structural Engineer / Colby Co. Engineering / Portland, ME (Hybrid)

This position has the opportunity to be hybrid or fully remote provided the successful candidate can commute to the Portland, ME office or job sites as needed.
Requirements of the Structural Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.
- 5+ years of building design and analysis, preferably in a consulting engineering firm.
- Experience working on federal contract projects a plus.
- Experience creating a broad range of designs and analysis including reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry and wood framing systems.
- Successful track record of design, quality control and construction administration.
- Quick, flexible thinker and problem-solver who is accustomed to working in fluid teams on tight deadlines.
- Experience with RISA 3D and the RISA suite of structural analysis software or similar structural analysis software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- PE License considered a plus, but not required.
- Ability to obtain government clearances

Responsibilities of the Structural Engineer:
- Research, plan and design a variety of buildings and non-building structures for government, industrial and commercial clients.
- Prepare code compliant plans and coordinate drawings for a broad range of designs utilizing reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry and wood framing systems.
- Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams, primarily in-house but also with subconsultants.
- Collaborate with all disciplines to prepare presentations and produce documents from schematic design through to the construction phase.
- Conduct and document site visits, process submittals, substitution requests, and RFI’s.
