Work Type: Full Time

Hours Per Week: 40.00

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Summary:

Manages inventory of drugs and other supplies for the Hospital pharmacy areas. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: identify cost savings opportunities associated with drug procurement and inventory, process wholesaler invoices for payment, provide training and support to technicians, adhere to hospital and departmental policies regarding vendors, 340B program and drug procurement, manage drug transfers and non-formulary purchases, communicate with pharmacy personnel regarding drug shortages/recalls and coordinate annual inventory. In addition, the senior buyer communicates and identifies cost savings initiatives for member hospitals and provides periodic reports for the pharmacy.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary Responsible of this position is being the pharmaceutical buyer for the pharmacy department.
  • This individual will also be responsible for the following pharmacy technician responsibilities including compounding of Parenteral IV Admixtures and cleaning of the IV hood that meets USP 797 standards.
  • Delivery of medications throughout the hospital, inventory, delivering medications via automated medication dispensing units, monitoring potential medication diversions opportunities.

Education

  • Required High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED)
