We are seeking an experienced Surgical Services Nursing Leader. This is a full time, Director level position reporting to the CNO.
The Nursing Director – Surgical Services is accountable for the delivery of consistent, high quality patient care, promoting the development of staff, creating a healthy work environment, providing efficiencies and ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory policies and standards. Areas of accountability include, Operating Room, Same Day Surgery, Post Anesthesia Recovery, Central Sterile and Endoscopy services.
Primary responsibilities include:
Management of clinical nursing practice; patient care delivery; management of human, fiscal, and other resources; development of personnel; compliance with regulatory and professional standards; strategic planning; and fostering interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships.
Implementing the philosophy, goals and standards of the hospital and nursing service at the department and unit-level.
Allocating available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice.
Promoting shared decision-making and professional autonomy by providing input – their own and that of their staff into Executive Leadership’s decisions, and by keeping staff informed of Executive Leadership activities.
Designs and implements structures, systems and standards for improved patient care delivery.
In order to help us continue to provide exceptional patient/customer experiences, we need you to have the following:
Minimum (2) years of Progressive leadership. (3-5) years is preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; Master's degree is preferred.
Strong Clinical Knowledge of Surgical Services practices.
Outstanding Leadership skills.
Excellent project development and relationship management skills.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a professional nurse in the State of Maine.
Professional certification in specialty area and leadership are preferred.
