Position Purpose
Lead the development and execution of world-class retail campus events year-round, ensuring exceptional customer-facing experiential elements. Provide strategic direction to the Freeport, Maine Events Leadership Team to deliver outstanding customer service. Cultivate and manage effective relationships with community partners, third-party vendors, service providers, and the internal Retail Experiential Marketing Team to bring our experiential vision to life on campus. Oversee and create all social media communications related to campus events.
Responsibilities
Partner with and provide oversight for the Freeport Events Team to execute daily events and flex up for seasonal installations:
- Assist with training the Flagship Team to understand daily operating routines related to the unique event tasks.
- Partner with Freeport leadership to manage performance, accountability, recognition, and performance evaluations for this Team.
- Coordinate with an Events Team located at Flagship Store
Leverage internal/external partnerships to plan and facilitate the calendar of campus-wide events to reinforce the Freeport experiential strategies:
- Develop a program of store events specific to each location that reinforces the goals of retail and corporate experiential and merchandising strategies.
- Develop a calendar of in store events that is linked with the appropriate season, activities, and product.
- Create, publish, and execute a run of show relative to every campus event. 365 days.
- Work with Retail Experiential, Brand Engagement, Executive Leaders, Merchants, Store Leadership, 3rd Party Service Providers, and Community Partners to facilitate planning and own the execution of these events.
- Partner with the Retail Experiential Team while taking ownership of execution of all campus installations and Freeport experiential events.
- Coordinate and manage all elements related to the scheduling of seasonal installations, campus activations, tours, executive visits. This includes season-long Summer in the Park and Northern Lights annually.
- Develop and maintain events communication, emails, and social media announcements/promotions for external and internal distribution.
- Create, order, place, and maintain appropriate in-store graphics and signage to support all events.
- Draft and conduct in-store announcements during events.
Work with regional, state, and local tourism groups and external travel vendors to increase visitation and travel to Flagship Campus. Represent L.L.Bean and facilitate partnerships with major tourism partners.
Implement experiential initiatives for the Retail Division across Freeport:
- Manage and execute all Social Media communications related campus-wide events.
- Facilitate all corporate events that directly impact the Retail Stores in Freeport.
- Coordinate promotional opportunities and partnerships within local, regional, and State tourism industry.
Oversee the planning and execution of tours provided to internal and external partners visiting the Retail Stores:
- Coordinate visits between groups and Store Leadership.
- Act as tour conductor on demand.
- Prepare content and installations for visitor groups as needed.
- Know and follow all safety rules and procedures. Address and report any unsafe acts or conditions to the proper partners.
- Perform additional related responsibilities as requested.

- This position is an in-office role based in our headquarters in Freeport, Maine. This is not a remote role.
- Experience with planning and executing large scale events is preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work a varied schedule and range of hours across shifts. This candidate needs to be onsite for major events that may include nights/weekends
- Travel around 10% of the time, and may be asked to support new store opening events in any of our new markets across the US
