Position Title: Student Resource Center Support

SUMMARY: Lewiston Public Schools has created a student resource center specifically designed
to support students experiencing homelessness. The center serves as a central hub where students
can access a variety of resources and services aimed at enhancing their academic performance,
well-being, and overall growth. Available services include food access, clothing assistance,
information on community resources, school point-of-contact support, as well as facilities for
showers and laundry.
This support position serves PreK-12 students and families out of primary location, LPS Student
Resource Center. This support position helps students make connections within the community
and provides the necessary resources to access school.
Salary Range: SMN4 (18.29/hour - 23.07/hour)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
  • Assists in matters related to student resources coordination.
  • Organize and distribute resources, including food, clothing, and hygiene supplies, ensuring availability and accessibility for students.
  • Maintain records of services provided, track resource usage, and gather data to report on the center’s impact.
  • Promote the center’s services to students and families, ensuring they are aware of available resources and support.
  • Provides oversight of the Student Resource Center, a safe place for homeless youth to find support and address their immediate needs.
  • Supports the dissemination of information and resources to students/families as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with team members to gather data and evidence necessary to support grant applications and/or reports.
  • Participates in the development of community programs responsive to community needs.
  • Assists with supervision of college work-study students, volunteers, and service-learning
  • Attends community meetings to acquire resources, provide reports, and strengthen community capacity.
  • Engages directly with homeless youth to understand and address their needs.
  • Identifies and helps remove obstacles to education to help youth achieve graduation.
  • Serves as LHS McKinney POC.
  • Supports donation management: Seeks donations, picks up donations, sorts donations, stocks the food pantry, shares donations to other schools in need.
  • Responds to questions regarding donations and students in need from school staff and community members.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be
able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Three or
more years of directly related field experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general counseling periodicals, professional journals,
technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from groups of staff/administration and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and
fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as
fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable working with groups of teens or individually.
  • Ability to multi-task and to prioritize assigned tasks.

  • Able to collect, analyze and utilize data in making programming decisions.
  • Ability to use appropriate language and accompanying techniques with adolescents on one to one bases as well as in groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit and talk or
hear. Occasionally the employee will repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion many times.
The employee must be able to attend meetings in the evening and at other locations. Specific

typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet
multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
