Position: Cybersecurity Coordinator

Our client is hiring a Cybersecurity Coordinator to lead cybersecurity coordination and outreach initiatives across state government levels and affiliated organizations. This role focuses on building cybersecurity awareness, readiness, and best practices. Through strategic support and educational programs, you will address vulnerabilities, helping partners strengthen their cybersecurity measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver cybersecurity education materials, workshops, and outreach programs tailored to various knowledge levels.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity initiatives, aligning goals and efforts among multiple stakeholders.
  • Advocate for the adoption of cybersecurity standards and best practices.
  • Identify gaps in cybersecurity resources and recommend improvements.
  • Build partnerships with industry associations, community groups, and other entities to develop a cohesive cybersecurity outreach strategy.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years in strategic planning, project management, or coordination, ideally in cybersecurity or public sector projects.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Public Administration, or related field required.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred.
  • Experience with federal programs or grants in cybersecurity is a plus.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and emerging threats.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating and delivering educational content.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving expertise focused on identifying and mitigating cybersecurity risks.
  • Adaptable to the changing cybersecurity landscape.

Work Environment & Travel:

  • Primarily remote, with occasional travel throughout Maine for meetings and stakeholder engagement.
