The Payroll Tax, Treasury & Compliance Manager is responsible for operational control of all payroll tax, treasury, and compliance matters. You will lead the charge to ensure each client is configured properly within the isolved system for smooth tax calculations, accurate payment processing and proper tax return filings. The tax payment and return reconciliation and filing process is your domain; you will develop processes to ensure that all payments and returns are filed accurately, in compliance with each jurisdiction's requirements and on time. Being proactive and reviewing tax dashboards throughout each tax period will ensure that month and quarter-end processing is a breeze.
Client service is our top priority, so being responsive to all client questions and needs is paramount; it is ideal when we anticipate the clients' needs before they ask the question! We act as an advisor to our clients, so some of our clients' needs may not be something we can handle; knowing and offering the correct contact or referral is often just as helpful.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Learn, understand, and maintain instructions for all federal, state and local filing and deposit requirements.
- A full understanding of all federal, state, and local payroll tax calculations and filing requirements.
- Manage the payroll tax payment and filing process for all clients, frequencies, and jurisdictions.
- Review client setups and tax and compliance dashboards to proactively prevent month and quarter end complications.
- Research, resolve and document payroll tax notices in a timely manner, including preparation and filing of amended tax returns as appropriate.
- Correspond with and build relationships with tax agencies.
- Manage annual compliance requirements, including updating tax frequencies, rates, and filings.
- Audit and reconcile tax history entered for new client accounts before first payroll processing.
- Serve as an expert on all things payroll tax related and act as an internal resource to our team and clients.
- Manage all payroll banking returns (NSF, credit backs, corrections, etc), including corresponding with clients as appropriate to resolve returns.
- Handle ACH risk & compliance matters with our banks and other 3rd parties as necessary.
Requirements:
- Experience using isolved HCM or similar payroll system preferred.
- Excellent research, development and troubleshooting skills.
- 3-5+ years of experience working in isolved suite of products and working in a client service/project management environment.
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience in accounting preferred. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
- Strong Windows Operating System Knowledge and Strong Skills with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
- Possess excellent math and common-sense decision-making skills.
- Impeccable customer service skills.
- Ability to work with technological tools and equipment and to adapt to changes in technology.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range dependent upon experience.
- Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30-4:00pm / Friday 8:30-noon / additional hours may be required at quarter and year-end.
