Work Schedule: 12-hour shifts

Summary:

The purpose of this position is to implement facility housekeeping procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet customers' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements. Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of premise by using the appropriate cleaning and sanitizing methods, chemicals, materials and procedures. They are also responsible cleaning floors and tiles, bathrooms, fixtures and equipment, and removing garbage, while providing the best customer service possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Must adhere to chemical use standards [safety data sheets (SDS)] and practice good safety as part of daily routine per standards and governing body regulations.
  • Must assist in proper care of housekeeping equipment and use supplies/equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
  • Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
  • Ensure that all hospital waste is disposed of in a proper way.
  • Must actively seek out areas in need of cleaning/care and care for them in a timely fashion.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
