Description Schedule: Regular Full-time
Shift: Day/Evening
Hours: 700 to 330 - will be required to work weekends/holidays

GENERAL DESCRIPTION/STATEMENT: Assist in the maintenance of the hospital and associated grounds to maintain the upkeep, operations and appearance of. Able to install new AC unit and troubleshoot.


1.Must have a knowledge of Maintenance policies and procedures.
2.Complete work orders, preventative work orders, projects & call ins, in order of urgency or as directed by Maintenance Manager.
3.Performs plumbing skills.
4.Performs mechanical skills.
5.Performs basic electrical skills.
6.Knowledge of chilled water systems
7.Knowledge of refrigeration systems
8.Knowledge of boiler systems
9.Knowledge of HVAC systems
10.Can read and interpret blue prints, schematics, specifications and O&M manuals
11.General maintenance duties
12.Accountability & Ownership
13.Knowledge of Infection Control policies & procedures


1.Performs other work related duties as assigned.
2.Assists carpenters, mechanics, electricians, and other tradesman as assigned.
3.May be asked to assist in the Laundry, Food Service Department, or Environmental Services Department


1.Valid driver's license.
2.Oil Burner: Journeyman I & II
3.High Pressure Boiler Operation License (Beginning in January 2019, must be obtained within three years)
4.Propane & Natural Gas Technician
5.Refrigeration Certification: Minimum of Type II


May be assigned to work the day, evening, or night shift. Usually assigned to one shift but may need to work a different shift from that assigned, if there is a need. Must be able to work at least every other weekend and holidays as needed.


1.Associate Degree preferred.

2.Requires verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

3.Should be able to follow oral and written instructions

4.De-escalation and workplace violence training will be completed at hire prior to release from orientation.

11.Hand/Wrist Repetitions. Moderate: 1000-2880/day or more.
12.Manual Dexterity. Gross Dexterity with frequent fine motor movement.
13.Either Handedness. Up to 35% of job cycle.
14.Both Handedness. 60-100% of job cycle time.
15.Sight. Requires corrected 20/20 near vision and minimal far vision.
16.Hearing. Can hear whispered voice at eight (8) feet (FAA class II).
17.Speech. Frequent clear speaking ability required.

1.High/Low Temperature. Work environment 70 - 80?F.
2.Noise. Frequent exposure to voices, bells, routine noises, and occasional fairly loudsounds.
3.Working with Others. Close association is frequent and compromises a major portion of the job.
