Full job description Job Location: Bangor, Maine; Augusta, ME; or Portland, MEJob Profile Summary: Under the direction of the Senior Fiduciary Officer, the Fiduciary Officer is responsible for assisting in the administration of fiduciary relationships (I.e., Trusts, estates, etc.) within Bangor Wealth Management, a division of Bangor Savings Bank. This role includes serving as a resource to Bangor Wealth Management staff, direct client interaction, ensuring compliance with fiduciary laws, and contributing to the strategic goals of Bangor Savings Bank.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Leadership:

  • Serve as a resource and support for the Wealth Management Group in the sales and service of trust and fiduciary services.
  • Ensure compliance with department policies, procedures, and applicable fiduciary laws.
  • Assist in creating streamline processes and efficiencies for fiduciary and tax tasks within the Wealth Management Group.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of client requests to the Trust Administrative Committee.
  • Represent Bangor Wealth Management statewide.

Customer Management:

  • Maintain and enhance existing client relationships through regular contact and client satisfaction strategies.
  • Proactively service and cross-sell client relationships to improve client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for production and distribution to the Relationship Management Team of necessary tax documents for accounts.
  • Assist in the facilitation and coordination of paying and reporting real estate taxes, insurance, and other expenses required by trust-owned real estate.

New Client Acquisition:

  • Provide responsive and appropriate financial solutions for relationships referred through internal or external channels.
  • Work closely with internal partners to deliver appropriate financial solutions to clients.

Compliance and Control:

  • Conduct routine account maintenance to ensure property administration of accounts from a legal and tax perspective.
  • Assist in ensuring that the Bank is in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

General:

  • Interact harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing on the attainment of bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork.
  • Conform to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

  • BA/BS; Legal/Paralegal and accounting professionals are preferred.
  • CTFA or equivalent designation is desirable.
  • 5+ years of fiduciary and/or trust administrative experience is preferred.
  • Strong inter-personal skills; strong written and verbal skills including comfort level for collaborating with teammates and clients; strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to analyze, comprehend, and interpret legal documents; self-starter; strong computer skills including use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of trusts, estates, investments, employee benefits, and estate planning is preferred; valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements:

  • General office environment.
  • Moderate lifting (up to 35 lbs.), reaching, walking, sitting, and standing required.
