Full job description
The Special Education team is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated special educator for the 2025-2026 school year to work collaboratively with our staff in our JumpStart II Behavior Program classroom at the new Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to develop positive relationships with students and provide specialized instruction for functional skills such as coping skills, self-regulation skills, and positive communication skills. Working closely with school special and general educators to support students is essential. Evidence of successful collaboration and the ability to meet the unique needs of each student are important skills for this position. A Maine Department of Education Special Education Teacher (#282) certificate is preferable; related certifications may be considered; CHRC required. Pay is based upon experience and level of education.
