Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the User Services Supervisor, participate in the daily activities of the circulation/reserve desks, supervise student assistants staffing these desks, prepare materials to be placed on reserve, physically maintain library collections, and assist library users with a variety of information and technical questions.

Education/Skills Requirements

A high school diploma or GED equivalent and some college (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required. Applicants must possess outstanding interpersonal, supervisory, customer service, and written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills are necessary. Familiarity with Microsoft Office required.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Required: One year of library, customer service or related experience. Preferred: Experience working at a library’s circulation desk and with an automated circulation system; experience in supervision and training. The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal history background check.

Standard Work Days and Hours

This is a casual, part-time, non-benefit eligible position working less than 19 hours/week and may include evening and weekend hours.
During the academic year the library is open from 8:30am – 12:00am.
Standard administrative hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm.
A specific schedule will be discussed upon hire.
