Maine Family Planning is seeking a full time Medical Assistant for our Mobile Medical Unit. This position is four days a week based on a 37.50-hour work week with Fridays off.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant assists family planning providers in the delivery of administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of the Family Nurse Practitioner as required by the State of Maine. The Medical Assistant for the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) works collaboratively, assisting the Family Nurse Practitioner and other with Family Planning staff, to provide healthcare with an emphasis on quality sexual and reproductive health services, primary care services, harm reduction services, and wound care. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment. Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor are required. Follows all Maine Family Planning policies and clinical protocols.
The candidate will be expected to travel with the Mobile Medical Unit team in the Bangor or Augusta area with occasional travel to other sites. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.

Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:
- 1-2 years working in social/health services.
- Ability to be organized, manage systems, computer skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and CLIA guidelines
- Experience working with electronic medical records.
- Commitment to family planning mission
The following education requirements are considered essential:
- Certification from a Medical Assistant Training Program required.
