We have an new opportunity for a Sales Manager! This position is responsible for direct sales and overall sales management for budgeted revenue goals of the Administrative Professionals Conference, American Society for Administrative Professionals and a new launch in Spring 2020, EA Ignite.

The Sales Manager is responsible for implementing sales and customer service strategies for continued portfolio growth consisting of two events and a paid certification program. The Sales Manager provides weekly sales reporting to senior management about attendee and exhibition/sponsorship sales performance and pipeline, identifies new sales opportunities, and manages the sales team to reach its full revenue-generating potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set sales goals and work directly with sales team to increase revenue per existing customer and attract new customers
  • Manage the sales team to meet or exceed attendee revenue sales goals
  • Manage the tracking of all sales and prospecting activity for attendee sales, exhibit space, sponsorships and demand generation sales in Salesforce and be prepared to discuss pipeline review and analysis on a weekly basis
  • Generate sales leads through customer service-related discussions
  • Responsible for selling all exhibit/sponsorships
  • Collaborate with marketing team to develop marketing campaigns and prospect development strategies to maximize sales efforts, develop floor plans and exhibitor space draw
  • Work onsite at portfolio events and attend competitive and industry events to find new prospects, develop new business relationships, and to continue business relationships with current customers and partners
  • Work with conference manager to maximize digital platform (ASAP) engagement, develop products, and assist in setting strategic direction for growth of platform
  • Determine customer service reporting to provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools
  • Ensure a true, collaborative team dynamic – both within the sales group, as well as with all other divisions within the product group, and broader company

Required Skills:

  • Proven background in sales; Prior experience in sales leadership/management preferred
  • Understanding of exceptional customer relations and account management
  • Strong organizational skills to manage selling multiple products
  • Leadership abilities to provide direction and organization to direct reports
  • Strategic thinking to develop and implement growth strategies for product sales
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present and sell ideas to customers and senior management
  • Ability to absorb industry information and learn quickly; stay ahead of market changes in fast-paced industry
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities

Other Qualifications:

Experience with Salesforce, budgets, analytics tools; Customer service database such as Zendesk a plus
