Full job description South Portland Middle School is looking for a dynamic, knowledgeable long term substitute for a 5th grade math and science teaching position from September-December, 2025. SPMS uses OpenSciEd curriculum and Desmos Math curriculum, and math and science teachers work collaboratively to develop engaging, rigorous instruction. Math/Science teachers are on a teaching team with a Humanities teacher, supporting the same two classes of students.

The successful candidate will have experience working with racially, linguistically, and economically diverse youth and their families. In addition, experience with PBIS, restorative justice practices, and MTSS is preferred. Flexibility, desire, and the enthusiasm to work with middle schoolers required!
