City of Bangor | Bangor, ME, United States

Full job description

The City of Bangor is accepting applications for the Public Works CDL B Training program. This program is intended for individuals with a desire to work in the Public Works Department, providing a wide range of excellent public services to residents and visitors to the City of Bangor. Why pay a school to train when you can receive pay and valuable experience instead?

This established training program includes:

  • ELDT-compliant classroom, range, and road CDL training taught in-person by qualified instructors
  • Full pay for classroom time
  • Full-time paid work alongside experienced PW professionals when not in the classroom
  • All testing fees paid by the City of Bangor
  • A full-time Heavy Equipment Operator (HEOI) position upon attainment of a CDL B license, including a full City of Bangor benefits package

City employment is an opportunity to give back to your community in a meaningful way. Public Works is the backbone of the support system that makes the City of Bangor function. Roads and sidewalks, stormwater drainage, streetlights and traffic signals, tree care, cemeteries, and more – we take care of the details.

We anticipate approximately six openings in this class. Applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and background check. Training candidates will be asked to commit to one year of employment upon earning their license, in exchange for the paid CDL training. If you are interested, please submit an application online at HR Upload Portal. Candidates will be contacted to schedule an interview.

Thank you for your interest in a career at City of Bangor Public Works!
