Status Hours:
36 hrs/wk
Job Summary: Must be a registered nurse, after additional education and training, is specialized in perioperative nursing practice. Responsible and accountable for all activities occurring during a surgical procedure, including, but not limited to, the management of personnel, equipment, supplies, and the environment during a surgical procedure, and managing the flow of information to and from the surgical team members in sterile attire. Acts as patient advocate, teacher, research consumer, and role model. May be responsible for monitoring the patient during local procedures, back injections, and the recovery phase.
Essential Duties:
1. Interprets clinical and diagnostic data, recognize the abnormal, and reports to MD/Anesthesia/ODS, or other OR staff members.
2. Verifies completeness of chart, assesses needs of the patient.
3. Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures by initiating nursing care according to the needs of patients, coordinate supplies, knowledge of usage of various equipment. Maintains a safe, calm, and clean atmosphere.
4. Documents all necessary information, including sponge and needle counts, I.V. fluids, medications, blood loss, and implants.
5. Attends in-services on safety, BLS, ACLS, PALS, required education programs and staff meetings.
6. Rotates “on-call” schedule as assigned by OR Manager.
7. Performs other work-related duties as assigned or delegated.

1. Complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Requirements
License Requirements:
1. Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
2. Must have a current professional license.
3. Maintains current BLS and ACLS.
