Job Summary:

The General Laborer in a print shop provides essential support to ensure efficient operations and timely production of printed materials. This role involves handling various tasks including preparation, production, packaging, and maintenance activities within the print shop.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Support:

• Assist in the setup and operation of printing equipment.
• Load and unload printing materials, such as paper, ink, and other supplies.
• Monitor the printing process to ensure quality standards are met.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of printing machinery.

Material Handling:

• Receive, store, and manage inventory of printing supplies.
• Organize and prepare materials for production runs.
• Transport materials and finished products within the print shop.

Quality Control:

• Inspect printed materials for defects or inconsistencies.
• Ensure that all printed materials meet the required specifications.
• Report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.

Packaging and Distribution:

• Package finished products according to customer specifications.
• Prepare shipments and handle labeling, sealing, and stacking of products.
• Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.

General Maintenance:

• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift up to 15 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• Standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
