Middle School Science Teacher - Grade 7
Located a ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, Loranger Memorial School is a 270 student, grades 3-8 School within RSU 23 seeking a Middle School Science Teacher to join our Grade 7 team for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate should possess the following:
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Citizenship, residency or work visa
- Maintains or is eligible for Maine Department of Education Teaching Certification for Middle Level Science (340) or equivalent (350 or 395)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards and Maine Learning Results
- In-depth understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment as it relates to proficiency-based education
- Extensive knowledge and skills in middle level instructional practices
- Willingness to collaborate with teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure highly effective educational programming for all students
- Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous, relevant, and differentiated instruction to students of varying abilities
- Experience with BARR (Building Assets Reducing Risks) preferred, or other system of MTSS
- Ability to integrate technology to support and enhance instruction
- Knowledge and experience utilizing PBIS strategies to manage the classroom
- Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom
- Ability to effectively engage all students in relevant, inquiry-based learning experiences
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders within the school community
- One section of middle level social studies is also part of the teaching assignment
