The School of Arts and Humanities (SAH) in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of New England (UNE) seeks applications for adjunct teaching professors to teach section(s) of our 100-level Composition course (WRT 110) during the Fall 2025 semester (August 27 – December 12, 2025). Sections are taught on the Biddeford campus.
The course is a required 3-credit course that introduces students to college-level, source-based writing. Information about the course (WRT 110), including learning outcomes, is available on the English website at https://www.une.edu/cas/schools/arts-humanities/majors/ba-english.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Developing and/or updating a course syllabus.
- Preparing lectures and presenting instruction aligned with the student learning outcomes of the course.
- Preparing student assignments that assess the student learning outcomes of the course.
- Meeting all designated class periods.
- Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
- Submitting mid-semester progress reports and final grades by University deadlines.
Qualifications
Prospective instructors should have a master’s or doctoral degree and have experience teaching first-year college writing as an introduction to academic writing. Familiarity or experience with ePortfolios is desired.
