Department: Talent Acquisition
Earn and Learn Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes are held at various Northern Light Health Members statewide throughout the year. Please apply if interested in learning more about the programs available near you!
What are CNA's and what kind of things do they do?
Certified Nursing Assistants are vital members of our patient care teams supporting both patients and nurses. CNA duties include taking vital signs, documenting, transporting, and providing basic care and assistance with daily living such as bathing and feeding.
If you have an interest in helping people, enjoy working as a team, are detail oriented, dependable, and adaptable, this might be the perfect opportunity for you!
What is earn and learn?
The combination of education and work time will allow students to be full-time employees while in training.
As a full-time employee, students will be eligible for all Northern Light Health benefits offerings including, medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, wellness programs and more.
(*One of our sites in Presque Isle offers part-time - paid education time only option).
What happens after I complete training?
Once students are on the Maine CNA Registry, students transition into CNA roles on nursing units at the member organization that they received their training.
(*Please note, most locations require a person to transition to a full-time CNA role following training.)
