WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Controller in Healthcare with our Outsourced Controller team, you will oversee and manage multiple client teams engaged with our healthcare clients, provide training to and promote development of staff, have direct client contact providing superior client consulting services. Healthcare industry experience that includes post-acute care (skilled nursing, home health, hospice), is required. This position can work remotely anywhere in the US.

  • Proactively identifying operational needs and structures of post-acute providers, hospitals or physician practices while communicating and implementing timely solutions
  • Keep abreast of the latest payment and regulatory developments impacting the healthcare industry
  • Building a trusted advisor relationship with healthcare client executives by gaining an in-depth understanding of their business objectives and management needs
  • Identifying operational strengths and weaknesses in client’s revenue cycle, cash flow and profitability
  • Review analysis finding with healthcare client executives including key performance indicators and advise client on performance improvements to achieve client goals
  • As requested, develop client operational budgets and forecasts
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement systems
  • Collaborate with internal and client external cost reporting departments to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure client accounting engagements are completed accurately and timely by routinely meeting with engagement managers and teams that include back-office services
  • Collaborating with the partner and other managers in making decisions to achieve departmental goals

WHAT WE SEEK

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Masters degree in related field a plus
  • CPA a plus
  • Healthcare industry experience that includes post-acute care, skilled nursing or senior living is required
  • Desired willingness to train and cultivate staff skill sets
  • Experience in developing strong remote team relationships based on trust, accountability and sharing best practices
  • Commitment to consistently follow established policies and procedures while holding team members accountable to do the same
  • Ability to create and work within monthly scope of client services and budget
  • Superior relationship building skills
  • Ability to learn and embrace new technology including various accounting software
  • Ability to project manage, think independently and problem solve in a results driven, team oriented environment

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $88,000 to $160,000 with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws.

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
